Welcome back to my page!
I thought this month I would take the opportunity to discuss dermoplanning! For my birthday, my friend Grace paid for me to get done in a local salon in my town. For those who haven’t heard of it before, this is when they a blade to remove all peach fuzz and dead skin off of your face. It’s a painless procedure and would say take about 40-50 minutes to do.
I have been fascinated by the concept of dermoplanning for as long as I can remember, purely because I have quite a lot of peach fuzz around my cheeks and it’s always noticeable when I apply makeup. I did wonder whether it’ll make a difference to my makeup application which leads to me deciding to take the plunge and see what the hype was really about.
Overall, the process was painless and was ok. I was in there for over an hour where she cleansed my face and then proceeded to remove all the peach fuzz and dead skin. Once she finished, she placed a Hyaluronic acid face mask on to help rehydrate and plump my face.
The aftermath was that my face was RED, I know I have a naturally red complexion which is why I wear so much makeup but this was pretty red. The upside was that my skin felt baby soft, which my skin has never felt like. It was hairless and very smooth (minus all my under the skin lumps and bumps).
After the first few days, my skin did start to come out quite spotty, this is because my skin is quite sensitive and some products do not get on with my skin. However, my makeup had applied flawlessly over my face which was what shook me the most- completely unexpected and honestly, didn’t believe it would make as much of a difference as it did.
Overall, a week down the line? Would I get it done again? Perhaps for a special occasion but not a regular thing. I think this is something I can do at home if I did become bothered about it once it has grown back. However truthfully, in my 22 years on this planet, I survived prior to getting it down, I am sure I will survive a few more.
I hope you guys liked this post and would love to hear your experience with dermoplanning, so please leave a comment below!
Until next time,
Love, DD x
