Welcome back to my page!
It’s that time of the month again for my Monthly Netflix Recommendations! This month I have been watching shows that have been recommended to me by my friends and colleagues and now I feel like I need to share these with you as I honestly was not in anyway disappointed! These shows were binge-worthy shows so shall we dive in?
My first recommendation and most definitely my FAVOURITE out of the three is Stranger Things! I am very late to the club of watching this and I realise this, I only started this because I was nagged by a couple of work colleague to try this because apparently, I don’t realise what I was missing out on. For anyone who grew in the 80’s I can imagine this is very nostalgic for them and can I just add that the soundtrack to this show is INCREDIBLE. I am even considering purchasing the vinyl because I was so hooked on the soundtrack, I could listen to it on repeat all day. So this is a science fiction- horror set around the disappearance of a young boy in the middle of all these supernatural things have been happening. It’s set around four children, three who are friends with the missing boy and a young girl with psychokinetic abilities who is helping to try and find their missing friend. I highly recommend this because this is nothing like I’ve ever seen before.
My second on the list is Luther, I have only just got round to watching series 4 which reminded me of how great this show really is! This has been a show that I’ve been watching for year purely because of Idris Elba, his acting in this show is incredible and he is a character that you become invested in from the first episode. I read somewhere a while back that his character is based on Columbo and Sherlock, which should be enough for anyone to at least try this show. It’s set around DCI John Luther as he solves murders taking place in London, the level of detail of each of these murders as well as the intensity of this show had me sitting on the edge of my seat each episode.
GRACE AND FRANKIE
My third and final recommendation is Grace and Frankie, I had this recommended to me over a year ago and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Where do I start with this show? So it centres around two women named Grace and Frankie, two women who couldn’t be any more different, their lives begin to merge when their partners tell them that they’re divorcing them to enter into a relationship together. It shows their journey of independence which is very entertaining as well as their blossoming friendship. If you’re looking for a light-hearted comedy then this ticks all of the boxes, and if any of you have seen the film 9 to 5 then Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin reuniting would be another reason to watch this. I highly recommend this if you loved The Good Place because it’s easy watching just like this.
I would love to hear whether you’ve watched the above or even any recommendations for me! I am struggling to find new shows to watch currently!
Love, DD x
